First paint happens on the mill mat with the ball the player actually buys, not a range barrel orphan. We read heel and toe in daylight from the south windows, not under a yellow shop tube.

The 6-iron is the anchor because it is the club Akron league players still trust when the rest of the bag is arguing. We write its lie in a ledger before any heat is applied.

Bending starts at the long irons and walks toward the wedges so the curve is pulled, not chased. Hybrids wait until their parent iron exists.

Then we walk. Cascade Valley or the municipal that still has clay in the fairway. Second paint happens after that walk. If the two paints disagree, the walk wins.

Time on the desk

A first arc usually takes two hours plus a walk. Rechecks after a thaw are forty minutes. We do not stack two first arcs on a Saturday morning.
